About

Founder Michael Kazee, started in the gaming world opening his first store The Bronze Tablet in Las Vegas back in 1994 focusing on Table Top Games and TCG's like Magic: the Gathering and by the late 1990's the beginnings of Pokemon.

By the early 2000's and becoming a husband and father he had moved on from the gaming world, and moved to Michigan. It wasn't until 2017 when his son had come home from 2nd grade and pulled some cards out of his pocket and asked him if he had ever heard of a game called Pokemon? This was a sign.

In 2018 Michael opened a game store called The Treasure Hoard, in Saginaw Michigan, by 2023 he had stores in malls in Saginaw, Bay City, Midland, Traverse City, and Grand Rapids. Unfortunately, malls were some of the first retail to truly fall victim to a changing society.

In 2023 he closed all mall locations and opened a singular brick and mortar store in Bay City called Totally Geek'd, but once again riding the wave of small business retail, it was only a matter of time for Mom & Pop types of retail businesses to feel the same crunch that malls have done just in the last few years.

Realizing that just making a nice local game store may not be enough, especially for the long run. In today's society, the margins are thinner, and the overhead has to be lower. Product needs to be to the consumer, when the consumer wants it. It needs to be fast and convenient, without being burdensome with huge overhead. Looking into automated retail and what technology has done recently, it was impressive! Hence, Poke-Vend was born!
